Our concept:

• We offer classic, authentic Ayurvedic treatments (Panchakarma and Wellness) under medical supervision.
• Our doctors are registered with the SriLankan Ayurveda Medical Council.
• We exclusively use certified herbal medicine from renowned manufacturers such as Link, Himalaya, Siddhalepa, etc., or herbs from our own garden.
• Each treatment is individually planned by the doctor after taking a medical history.

The treatment includes:

• Overnight stay
• Full board (as recommended by the doctor)
• Medical consultations (from three nights, approximately once a week) / An initial consultation questionnaire will be sent upon booking.
• Approximately 5 Ayurvedic treatments per day
• Ayurvedic herbal medicine
• Herbal teas and hot water
• 5 yoga sessions per week (usually Monday-Friday)
• With us, you'll experience an individual and personally guided Ayurvedic treatment by Silke (certified social worker and Ayurvedic therapist, German) and/or Lucky (Sri Lankan, Buddhist, speaks excellent German), who also live directly in the villa. We are always happy to answer any questions you may have about Ayurveda, the Ayurvedic lifestyle, meditation, Buddhism, and life in Sri Lanka.
• Please note: No treatments will take place on the day of arrival and departure.

For stays of 10 nights or more:

• Spa opening ceremony and spa closing ceremony with flower bath and the opportunity to try on a saree.
• Opportunity for an online pre- and post-consultation with Silke/Ayurvedic therapist
• Ayurveda and spa information per room (large guest handout with lots of information about Ayurveda, the spa treatment process, description/procedure of treatments, basics of Ayurvedic nutrition, tips for everyday life at home --> specially compiled for Wasanawan Villa guests) to take home
• Guest diary per guest - 1 page per day of the spa stay with reflection instructions, affirmations, etc. (specially compiled for Wasanawan Villa guests) to take home.
• the Wasanawan Villa backpack or the Wasanawan Villa apron to take home
• Option (before and/or after the treatment) for a (paid) online consultation with our doctors.

Additional information:Panchakarma and wellness treatments differ in the intensity of the detoxification measures.

• Wellness treatments can be booked for stays of two nights or more.
• Ayurvedic treatments usually consist of various massage techniques, herbal compresses, and stamp massages.
• Special treatments such as Shirodhara (oil pouring on the forehead) are only administered upon prescription by our Ayurvedic doctors.
• At Panchakarma treatments (Pancha=5, Karma = Action) a minimum stay of 14 days must be factored in.
• This is a deep detoxification process that requires sufficient time and rest.
• It can In addition to the wellness treatment, 3 of the 5 procedures are used, e.g. purging, nasal treatment, enemas.
• After taking a medical history, the doctor decides whether Panchakarma and which treatments are recommended.
• We do not perform therapeutic vomiting or leech treatments; in our opinion, these belong in the context of clinic-like institutions or resorts.

Basics of Ayurvedic treatment:

• Unfortunately, we cannot admit or treat individuals with contagious, serious physical or mental illnesses, or pregnant women. In our opinion, they belong in the setting of clinic-like institutions or resorts. By booking, the guest agrees that they do not suffer from any contagious or serious illnesses, or that they are not pregnant.
• During a treatment, various pain symptoms (headaches, joint pain, muscle pain, etc.) or nausea, allergic reactions or initial worsening of symptoms may occur due to the detoxification of the body.
• Prescriptions from conventional medicine should continue to be taken for the duration of the treatment and may only be discontinued or reduced if the prescribing conventional medical doctor gives their consent.
• We respect the personal responsibility of our guests. To ensure the success of the treatment, the recommendations of our doctors should be strictly followed.
• Participation in yoga classes is at your own risk.
• In our opinion, every day spent approaching and practicing Ayurveda is beneficial for body, mind and soul, and it is up to our guests to take as much as they can.
